Sub-Mariner #43: Original Cover Art - Gil Kane, 1971

The Mighty SUB-MARINER has always been one of the most beloved, mysterious characters in comics, and so it was no surprise that the titular PRINCE NAMOR made he debut as a major player in the MCU in 2022's WAKANDA FOREVER. "Man or monarch, no lone foe is a match for Tuval!" So it is that the SUB-MARINER, is bowled over by the terrifying power of TUVAL, in this senses-shattering masterwork penciled by Gil Kane, the celebrated master of superheroic figure drawing.

Gil Kane was a Latvian-born American comics artist whose career spanned the 1940s to the 1990s and virtually every major comics company and character. Kane co-created the modern-day versions of the superheroes Green Lantern and the Atom for DC Comics, and co-created Iron Fist with Roy Thomas for Marvel Comics. In 1997, he was inducted into both the Will Eisner Comic Book Hall of Fame and the Harvey Award Jack Kirby Hall of Fame.

This beautiful Bronze Age cover by the legendary Gil Kane is a truly stunning piece of work, who's importance can only multiply as NAMOR's name is etched into the mind of a generation.
